Windsor-Essex Homeschool Debate Team

"Debate and public speaking are of extraordinary value to students in high school. Participation in debating can boost self-confidence, accelerate learning across the curriculum, and facilitate great improvement in critical thinking and oral communication skills."

The Windsor-Essex Homeschool Debate Team starts on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the home of Jill Huschilt, 13660 Tecumseh Rd E in Tecumseh.Weekly meetings follow every Tuesday at the same time. Regular meetings continue to the end of April. A tentative schedule/syllabus for the beginning meetings will be handed out on Sept. 15.


Homeschool Speech & Debate Workshops and Competition

NOTE: This event is not running for the school year 2016/17. We hope to resume again next year.

The Windsor-Essex Homeschool Speech & Debate Association is excited to announce our sixth year of training and cultivating communication skills. As in previous years, we will offer three 2-hour speech workshops and a speech & debate competition day. The cost of this speech opportunity is a non-refundable flat fee of $10.00 per student with a maximum of $25.00 per family payable at the first workshop. This fee covers the three workshops and all expenses for the competition day which includes a pizza lunch.
